Companies are what’s known as a separate “entity” within Act!, and can exist as their own records independently from Contacts. Using some neat tricks you can readily set up your database properly and learn to navigate between the two.
Companies allow you to:
– View consolidated notes/histories for all contacts from an organization at once
– Add records to your database even when you don’t know someone’s name
– Quickly create new contact records if you meet someone new from a company without re-entering duplicate data
